The formula is also made primarily of glycerin, which is part of the reason this applies more like a serum than a typical full-coverage foundation. The finish is in between satin and matte; it isn't dewy or overly dry. It feels lightweight on dry patches (such as my personal enemy around the nose), and the 24-hour wear claim is supported by the formula being waterproof and sweat resistant. There are twelve shades (which isn't the best range, but workable), and this is best for normal to dry skin types who want coverage without the powdery aftermath.
